Saturday night in- meatballs & wine

A rainy Saturday called for a nice hearty meal for dinner,  so I googled Jamie's meatballs (as you do) to make for our relaxing dinner and Saturday night in. The sauce bubbling away smells divine and quite easy to make. I find Jamie's recipes easy and always taste delish.

Enjoying a glass of shiraz whilst cooking always makes the dinner taste better (just does you know)! I find I always get a little creative and add ingredients to the mix.... namely wine.

Another Hallmark holiday but a good reminder to give extra love & thanks to the woman who birthed you (or raised you), bathed you, wiped your backside and burped you and who was there for all the good and bad times growing up and even still as an adult.  Mum's are the best. I know mine is the best ever. So many stories I could tell you about growing up with mum being there for me,  it would take forever.  I always feel a little sad as my mum isn't in the same city as me, but we chat often and see each other a few times a year & love buying something little to send her that I know she loves. This year was humbugs and Ginger Fudge from Hobart and a gorgeous printed scarf. Lovely.  I am so lucky and grateful that my mum is still here, where so many others don't have their mums with them. So many dresses!!!

Currently renting an old house in the Inner West of Sydney and dealing with a typical old house problem - mould. After sorting out the process with the landlord/real estate, we are now going through the treatment phase. This means making sure there is no mould on items before the treatment commences. We have lost a few items to mould and yesterday I decided to finally go through the side of my wardrobe that I am not currently wearing - this is due to weather being winter, but mainly because they don't fit me anymore. I have some amazing dresses from halter necks, maxi dresses, saba shifts and a few LBD's that are just sitting there, wanting to be worn and shown off. I could wear them in winter too with tights and a jacket. I have some truly stunning summer dresses from Frocked, formal dresses bought in the UK, Cue dresses brought that I wore to the Michelle Bridges end of challenge parties in 2010 (I did two rounds). Tomorrow is the END of NO Sugar!

Technically.  It commenced on the 1 July (I commenced a week earlier) so it will really have been 58days sugar free tomorrow for me, well 56 days sugar free as I did have two big blowouts.  But I see that as a learning curve and honestly can say I am enjoying being sugar free and good timing I just got my I Quit Sugar recipe book by Sarah Wilson in the post after attending a talk a couple weeks ago at Flow Athletica in Paddington. So even though it is technically the end of NO sugar, I won't be rushing out to buy my body weight in lollies or chocolate because I don't feel like I have to make up for that time, I feel like I have totally changed the way I think about sugar, food and fructose.  It has truly made me reduce processed foods to a minimum.  I don't crave anything really anymore, I fancy a chai latte or I fancy the cinnamon on top really.  I enjoy making fructose free chocolate, muffins and now that I have my new cookbook I am excited to make lots ...
